Description: Ecological Scars of Slave Plantations: What uniqe impacts did transatlantic slave trade have on Carribbean island soils and plant communities? Did plantation agriculture and chattel slavery on the Dutch-colonized island of St. Croix leave an ecological signature that can be detected at other sites slavery?
