Through its Liberation Ecology Field Course, CEL readies the next generation of BIPOC environmental change researchers, educators, and organizers to pursue ecological truth telling and respond boldly to planetary and humanitarian crisis.

CEL partners with Black-focused organizations and thinkers to facilitate cultural dialogues between BIPOC researchers and community organizers, shaping new processes of environmental discovery through the pathway of the Black experience.

MUSEUM COLLABORATION

Green Modernism

CEL Director Dr. Pierre worked with Dr. Miriam Zwast, art curator at the Museum Ludwig in Cologne, Germany, to create an art exhibition that questions the social forces shaping 20th century views of plants in Europe.

New Science: The Academy Exhibit

New Science, a museum exhibit at the California Academy of Sciences, was co-created by CEL and Academy scientists to showcase the experiences, perspectives, and new directions of queer and BIPOC scientists around the world.
